Membership How-To
There are a number of options available to you when joining, so the best way to become a new member of Brunswick Cycling Club is to introduce yourself and fill in a form manually. This will give you a chance to meet some other club members and discuss which licence type is best for you.
You can do this at any road or track event, especially Tuesday night or Sunday training at DISC. If you cannot make it to a club event you can now join the club online via the Cycling Australia web site.
- Go to the Cycling Australia New Registration page
- Select Victoria as your State
- Select Brunswick Cycling Club INC as your club and click Next
- Complete your application
- Come along to an event and introduce yourself to the club!
Please contact the club secretary for more information.
There are 2 main types of licence : competitive (gold) and recreational (silver).
Competitive (Gold)
To race competitively, you need to obtain a CA/CV sanctioned racing licence and be affiliated with a cycling club (eg Brunswick Cycling Club). The licence cost depends on the race category you want to enter and your age. Race categories range from 5 years old to over 70 years young.
More information on racing licences and categories is available on the Cycling Australia Membership Page.
Recreational (Silver)
For adults, you can get a Silver licence which lets you join Brunswick as a member for fun and fitness and to participate in club training rides and sessions. It also allows you to enter CA/CV Gran Fondos, Cyclo Sportif events and restricted time trial events. You can upgrade your Silver licence to a full racing Gold licence at any time by paying the difference.
Officials(Platinum)
For all officials, coaches and volunteers, you can get a Platinum licence which lets you join Brunswick which covers you for everything that a Silver licence does and includes professional indemnity insurance. You can upgrade your Platinum licence to a full racing Gold licence at any time by paying the difference.
