Membership

By becoming a member of Brunswick Cycling Club, you get:

  • Access to the Brunswick velodrome and clubrooms
  • Access to use DISC for training and racing (a further fee applies to using DISC )
  • Access to club rides and social events
  • Access to coaching and development programs
  • Access to CycleSport Victoria sanctioned events
  • Insurance against injury while training or racing

Membership lasts the calendar year. There are reduced rates if you join towards the end of the year.

Membership How-To

There are a number of options available to you when joining, so the best way to become a new member of Brunswick Cycling Club is to introduce yourself and fill in a form manually. This will give you a chance to meet some other club members and discuss which license type is best for you.

You can do this at any road or track event, especially Tuesday night or Sunday training at DISC. If you cannot make it to a club event you can now join the club online via the Cycling Australia web site.

  1. Go to the Cycling Australia site: http://www.cycling.org.au/
  2. Select "Membership"->"New Member Sign Up" from the main menu.
  3. Choose Victoria, then Brunswick Cycling Club Inc
  4. Complete your application
  5. Come along to an event and introduce yourself to the club!

There are 2 main types of license : competitive and recreational.

Competitive

To race competitively, you need to obtain a CA/CSV sanctioned racing license and be affiliated with a cycling club (eg Brunswick Cycling Club). The license cost depends on the race category you want to enter and your age. Race categories range from 5 years old to over 70 years young.

Recreational

For adults, you can get a Ride-it license which lets you join Brunswick as a member for fun and fitness or as a club official or volunteer. You can upgrade your Ride-It license to a full racing license at any time by paying the difference.
