Cyclocross

Brunswick Cycling Club in conjunction with Dirty Deeds CX presents three cross races and a fun prologue to be held during Winter 2011. Full details of the events are listed below. For answers to often asked questions please have a look at the Dirty Deeds FAQ and the Dirty Deeds licensing pages.

Please note: Day permits and Cross season passes will no longer be available at registration. Riders without a license or permit will have to purchase a 3 ride permit to compete in round 3.

Racing will be conducted in three categories:

  1. Kids: Under 15 on the race day*.
  2. Cyclocross: If it looks like a cross bike, and it sounds like a cross bike, it is eligible for this category. No flat bars, no 26″ wheels and no fixed gears allowed. Races will be run in grades if required.
  3. Open: All others.

Licensing Information

Dirty Deeds cyclocross races are run as Cycling Victoria sanctioned club racing events. All participants in the event must be current licensed members of Cycling Victoria or Cycling Australia. If you hold a current competitive CA license, then you are good to go. For those riders that do not hold a current license, there are a number of options:

  1. Join the Brunswick Cycling Club : Sign up to Brunswick with a full racing license to race track, road, crit and cross races at the club or open levels. For more information on joining the club, please have a look at the membership page.
  2. 3 Ride Permit : A Cycling Victoria 3 ride permit may be used for any 3 track, road or cross events at the club level within a period of three months. These can be purchased for $50.
  3. Season Pass : A cross-specific license that covers all four Dirty Deeds events and the Cycling Victoria cross open – $50 (see below).
  4. Junior License : Junior riders racing in the kids class may ride with a “Kidz” or Rec Junior license. These can be obtained as required on race day and will cover all cross events and the BCC track clinic.

For more information on licensing, we strongly encourage riders to attend a Brunswick club race and have a chat in-person with a club representative. There are many options available and it is always easier to introduce yourself and talk through the options with another human.

2011 Cyclocross Season Pass

This year, Brunswick CC and Dirty Deeds CX are very pleased to be able to offer riders a "Season Pass" for the sensational price of $50. This pass will look a lot like a Cycling Victoria 3 ride permit, but will cover entry to all four Dirty Deeds races and the "sport" category for the Cycling Victoria cross open in September. That’s 5 rides for the price of 3 – and you can always trade the pass up to a full license, should you decide to compete on the track or road.

Season passes can be picked up from the registration desk at a Tuesday Track race, at a Northern Combine road race, or from the registration desk at all Dirty Deeds events. Ask for Nathan Fraser or Alf Walker.
