Brunswick CC Success @ Aust Masters Champs Launceston

The Australian Masters Track Championships was held in Launceston from Wed 1 April  and concluded on Saturday 4 April.

Leah Paterson WMAS1, Peter Ganss MMAS6 and Brent McKenzie MMAS2 represented Brunswick CC at these strongly contested championships.

Brent contested the Kilo achieving seventh place nationally and the sprint but unfortunately in a very strong sprint field, his 10th place F200 time didn’t allow him to progress to the finals.

Leah was just out of the medals in fifth place in the 500m TT and fourth in the Sprint but got up to win a BRONZE medal in the WMAS 1-2 2000m pursuit with a clear lead of 15.s over her Tasmanian opponent.

Peter Ganss, 2007 Australian MMAS 6 pursuit champ, came through in the minor final to take BRONZE by over 2.0s and then stamped on all opposition later in the competition by taking GOLD in the 5km Scratch race on Friday and on the final day, after qualifying 2nd fastest in the F200 sprint qualifying, went on to capture a second Australian GOLD medal in the Sprint final in two straight rounds. Two Gold and a Bronze! This also gave Peter the Champion of Champions jersey in the MMAS6 category.

Well done Peter, Leah and Brent.

Brunswick CC is proud of you.
