Brunswick Bicycle Brigade Helps with Fire Recovery
A huge thanks you to those members who attended the Blaze Aid 7.30am Kinglake Training Ride working bee held 28/06/09. The fence demolition work we undertook was at Coombs Rd, Kinglake West. You may recall that during the bushfires, Coombs Rd was a disastrous bottle neck with a dead-end accessible only by 4 wheel drive.
The owners of the property that the working bee was held were fantastic and put lunch on for all the hard working cyclists.
The event was a huge success and we have proven that we can be successful in positioning the sport of cycling in a very positive light in the Kinglake area (a favourite training ground for Melbourne cyclists). Attached is the press release regarding the event. I look forward to your continued support in future Blaze Aid working bee events
Once again, thank you for your co-operation in this important community relations activity.
