Brunswick Cycling Club

It was cup eve and while others were studying the form guides for a hint of who would win the Melbourne Cup, Brunswick members, friends and family gathered at the Harrison St Track to award and celebrate the achievements of those who contested the 2009 Winter road season and Club Championships.

It was a who’s who on the night of nights, guest presenters, tips from the Champions to the juniors on how to achieve their best and of course the fashion!!

Work is already underway for the 2010 celebrations to include a red carpet intro and “Black Tie” for the Gents!

Again the food and drink was 5 star with a full buffet and extensive wine list available.

One couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was so good that the event was moved out doors so all in attendance could enjoy the warm evening air.

A fantastic change for this years presentations was the re-introduction of Championship Sashes for the Winner and place getters.

Club Presidant Alan Comte and his “Vice” Nathan Fraser were on hand to present and congratulate Champions and were assisted by the one and only Emily Hughes.

The night finished with a challenge race with the young guns Sarah and Emily against the seasoned pros Shaun and Greg, it looked like a long winter campaign had taken it’s toll on the old boys as the young ladies turned on the gas to ride away from their opponents.

We would’ve all been home before dark if Cam chose not to interview everyone… but then we wouldn’t of got the tips from our Champs would we?
