Brunswick Metro Glory

Brunswick’s Nathan Elliot pulls off the biggest win of his time so far wearing the Charter Mason Drapac Development team colours (he had a Brunswick kit on underneath!) with victory in the Elite Men Metropolitan Championships on Saturday at Harcourt (Conner Murtagh (5th) and Stuart Grimsey (13th) also finished in the front group). Nathan’s win topped off a terrific day for the club with Nonie Carr winning Masters Women and Maddy Cardillo winning the JW19s.

The Brunswick juniors also took home a swag of medals. Sarah Gigante rode a great race to take second in the JG13′s, just missing out in the sprint (I saw Sarah sucking pretty hard on the asthma puffer after the race so hope she pulls up OK). The under-15′s took out a clean sweep of the top two top steps of the podium: firstly, Ruby Roseman-Gannon and Emily Dunk went 1-2 in the JW15s, then Riley Hart and Ryan Schilt matched that result in the JM15s. Awesome result all round!

In the JB13′s Preston’s Luca Tarrtichio (who Brunswick know well) took the win with emerging youngster Luke Plapp finishing in the front group to take a good fourth.

In the JM17s, James Pane continued his break-out season finishing in the front group (4th), along with fellow Brunswick member, triathlete Lachlan Brown (5th). Liam Hood continues his comeback winning the sprint for 10th some 4-minutes back; while new comer Riley Terrens continues to improve with a good 15th.

In the Masters Men, Tim Feltham and Richard Hood picked up silver and bronze in the MMAS5.

All in all, a terrific result fro the club – the colours wear flown proudly. Sorry, no photos although I saw Leanne Cole there so maybe check her website.
