What’s the Points?

DISC-O Track #2 is just around the corner!

DISC-O Track #1 has been run and won and the points are up on this site. What the results doesn’t tell you is that there will be significant prize money for the junior and senior team categories as well as prize money for the top 3 in the individual points category. So, make sure you and your partner are all locked in for DISC-O #2 on Saturday 15th September to stay in the hunt and build those points…

The story so far: In the junior teams Isaac Buckle & Riley Hart lead on 49-points, closely followed by Ruby Roseman Gannon and James Tickner on 43. Also in the hunt are Sarah Gigante & Patrick Butler (30), David Koroknai & Dylan Thompson (28) and Kurt Santagada & Angus Flood (23). For the individual, Charlotte Thompson is streets ahead with 32-points, with Courtney Field (18) and Godfrey Slattery (14) next best.

In the senior ranks Jessica Laws & Madeleine Cardillo are smashing it with 49-points, from Nick Edwards & Steve Duggan (22) and Nick Mahoney & Liam Coghlan (21). It’s much closer in the individual category with just 12-points separating Kyle Thompson (29), Keiren Schnieder (24), Riley Terrans (23), David Randall (21), Stuart Vaughan (17) and Ben Abels (17).

The other opportunity to win big is in DISC-O #3 on Saturday the 20th October with the final of the Henry Hill Motorpace (100-laps for seniors) and the BONT Wheelraces with fresh new Bont kicks on offer for the winners. You need to ride at least one of the early rounds with a good result to ensure you qualify for these finals. Not that its about the cash!?!

DISC-O #1 offered seven or eight races over a compact three-hour window… everyone left completely stuffed – which was the idea – getting some spinning action into the legs in preparation for the upcoming track season. The DISC-O #2 program is tweaked just a little with the Motorpace moved to the first event and the keirin heats replaced with sprint derbys. Start times have also been moved forward to ensure an earlier finish for the seniors. So for juniors, track opens at 11am for a midday kick-off and for the seniors it’s 4pm for warm-up with a 5pm sharp start.

The other big inclusion, is you can nominate your favourite disco tracks to be played during your racing. Jump on the DISC-O Track Facebook page and let us know what music you want.

It’s track Jim, but not as we know it!
