Sunday Junior Clinic returns this coming Sunday 6th of November to the Brunswick Velodrome. Clinic starts at 9am sharp, arrive early to organise your entry and setup a club bike.

Clinic riders and parents please note: The winter track clinic that was previously scheduled for Sunday 4th September has been moved to Sunday 18th September at the normal time.

For those riders that can’t wait that long (and that have parents with tolerant attitudes to getting really dirty) please consider coming along to the Dirty Deeds Cyclocross race instead this weekend, Sunday 21st August.

The Echuca Experiment – Sunday Jnr Clinic Heads North

The Brunswick Sunday Junior Clinic is hitting the road for a weekend of racing with the Echuca Moama Cycling Club novices on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January 2011

Saturday’s racing will be in Age categories. There will also be a 30 second challenge for Echuca riders. (and for Brunswick riders if time permits)

The Saturday racing results and times for the 30s challenge will be used to hold graded racing on Sunday.

Clinic bikes will be available.

Why not get into the Summer Carnival atmosphere and make a holiday weekend of it.

Junior Clinic returns for 2010/11

Come on down and try track in a welcoming environment at the Brunswick Junior Clinic – now in its 62nd year! Riders like Shane Kelly, Gary Neiwand, Leigh Howard, Will Walker and Mitch Docker all started their cycling careers at the clinic!

As it has for the past 60+ years, the Brunswick Junior Clinic gets underway at the Harrison St Velodrome on the first Sunday after the Melbourne Cup – this year, it’s Sunday 7th November. And every Sunday from there till the end of March 2011 (with a break for Christmas) kids aged four to 15 will come on down to learn how to ride a fixed-gear bike on a banked velodrome. You don’t need a track bike… You just need to come on down ready for some fun and riding.

Clinic starts at 9am sharp – so arrive early to register and get fitted for a bike. It’s just $5 per family for three-hours of good times. You’ll also need a license for the season, which will set you back either $10 or $50 – depending on your age.

Every kid will get to do the famous Alan Grindal Challenge (can you break 30-seconds?) and then get three races and lots of training on the day. Races will include scratch races, handicaps, points races, flying 200’s, sprints and team events like pursuits and team sprints.

Where: Brunswick Cycling Club, Harrison St, Brunswick.
When: Starts Sunday, 7th November 9am to 12-noon – then every Sunday till the end of March 2011 (with a break over Christmas)
Who: Anyone aged four to 15 who wants to learn how to ride a track bike and have great fun
