2011-2012 Brunswick CC Committee

At last nights AGM your new committee was voted in by those in attendance. The new committee would like to thank the previous years committee for their all their work over the previous 12 months.

There have been a few changes to the look of the Committee with the addition of Peter Mazzarella, David Morgan and Andrew Gannon coming on board for their first time onto the General Committee. Alan Comte has again been voted in as President after taking a year or two off from this role and Cam McFarlane joins the Committee as Vice President after some time away. Lisa Hocking has also been appointed as Secretary.

AGM – Monday 3rd October 2011, 8pm (nibbles from 7pm)

A reminder that the AGM is at 8pm next Monday 3rd October at the Harrison Street Clubroom. Nibbles will be provided from 7pm so come down a bit earlier for a chat with other members.
After undertaking a full strategic plan earlier this year, this AGM is set to mark an important step in the future of the Brunswick Cycling Club. Come and learn about the future of the club house, maybe you’re keen to contribute to one of the planned sub-committees, or maybe you just want to establish a closer connection with your club… Whatever the reason, come along and be there for this momentous occasion. The AGM will include reports from the President and Treasurer.

AGM – Monday 3rd October

Bumping this as a reminder – get your nominations in to Lisa tomorrow night at DISC!

It’s time once again for Brunswick CC’s AGM and your club needs you! If you have some spare time and an interest in helping to move your club forward at a very exciting time then now is your opportunity to put your hand up.

The Brunswick Cycling Club Annual General Meeting will be held Monday 3rd October at the Harrison St. clubrooms from 8pm with nibbles from 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting to decide the committee for the next year.

Notice of intention of change to the constitution

A change to the Brunswick Cycling Club Inc constitution has been tabled and notice is hearby given that it will be voted on at the October 2011 meeting.

The proposal is to change the term of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary from one year to two years and that the terms be staggered so the positions of President and Treasurer be held one year eg: 2012 and the election of Vice president and Secretary be held the following eg:2013.

Calling for Interim Club President

As provided in the club’s constitution, the club’s committee of management is calling for any senior club member to indicate their interest in being appointed interim President until the next Annual General meeting at which time the club membership with elect a new president.

Teamer Net Trial – SMS messages explanation

A trial of the web based team notification application “Teamer Net” was initiated on the afternoon of 7 July.

This resulted in an SMS message being sent to all Senior Club racing members. The sending of this SMS was unintentional and I apologise for any inconvenience.

Brunswick Cycling Club Strategic Planning Sessions

We want you and your views!!

What do you like about your club? What current activities do you feel the club should grow ? What would you like to see changed? Where do you see the club in five-years time? Cycling is growing, what role should a cycling club have in this growth? So many questions… and the committee are keen to hear your answers and ideas. BCC is about to undertake a thorough strategic plan looking at the future direction of the club. Members are invited to take part in three planning sessions to be run by an experienced facilitator who works at Sport and Recreation Victoria.

Session 1
Sunday 1st May 2011 – 12:30pm to 4:30pm

Session 2
Monday 16th May 2011 – 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Session 3
Monday 30th May 2011 – 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Tuesday Night Track – Judges Roster 2011

At the December 2010 Club General Meeting, the club passed a motion to allow for a judging roster at Tuesday night racing.

As of 18 Jan 2011, Senior BCC members who race on a regular basis at Tuesday night track racing will be required to be rostered on as a judge from time to time.
