Get Well Andrew Fillery

C. McFarlane, Friday, February 5th, 2010

Brunswick speed machine Andrew Fillery is due out of Hospital early next week after pulling up not too well at a training session Wednesday night, apparently he had a blood clot or two which caused severe chest pains and scored him a ride in an ambulance with the lights and sirens on, every bike riders dream… NOT.

We wish Andrew a speedy recovery and also remind him that Club Teams are on this Saturday!!!!!!  (only joking)

Christmas Holiday Safety

C. McFarlane, Thursday, December 24th, 2009

99% of people driving cars & trucks these holidays won’t care that you are wearing the 2010 HTC or Garmin kit you got for christmas.

All they are concerned about is getting to their destination with as little delay as possible, so take care riding over the summer break.

Keep left.

If the traffic is heavy ride single file.

Don’t ride into a rising or setting sun.

If you are in a holiday area be ready for cars to do the unexpected like stopping or turning in front of you.

It’s a jungle out there!!!!

if you’re down anglesea way give us a bell for an @.i.s. ride 52633459 cam

Be One Step Ahead

C. McFarlane, Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Okay you’ve got your routine going for keeping in touch with all the news updates now it’s time to stay one step ahead of anything you may forget before race day.

Prepare Early!

Don’t look at your equipment late friday night and discover that your rear tyre is worn out or you’ve got a gaping hole in your knicks. Check and pack on Thursday night, that way if you do find something that needs replacing you can buy it Friday night!

There’s no stress, no panic, the house remains calm and you can sleep well and perform at your best.

N. Fraser, Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Help us to help you…

The Brunswick Cycling Club Committee would like to hear from all members (including those not renewing in 2009) to help improve and build our club. We have prepared a short online survey which all members (competitive or otherwise) are encouraged to fill in.

Members whose email address was supplied when signing up or renewing would have received a request to fill in the survey via email. If you did not receive an email asking you to complete the survey, please follow the links below. If you prefer, we can provide you with a printed version. Most importantly: Please don’t hold back – we’d like to hear all you have to say, good and bad. All survey responses are anonymous.

Farewells and best wishes for 2009

N. Fraser, Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Brunswick Cycling Club wish to extend a warm farewell and best wishes for 2009 to riders leaving us this year for bigger and better things.

Miranda Laidlaw, who started her cycling with BCC, continues to shine on the track and road and has had a great Tas Carnival series. Eddie Wilson, likewise, was having a great track season and Christmas Carnival Series untill he broke a collarbone, and…

Johnny, Nick and Will Walker who began at the BCC Clinic under the coaching of Olympian Alan Grindal and who have had the support of the BCC, are progressing to ride for Continental Teams in 2009.

Brunswick wishes them all the best with their road and track cycling careers, and looks forward to seeing them in the results over the next few years.
