Alex Meyland selected in Australian MTB Cross Country Team

Alex Meyland, one of Brunswick CC’s most talented and versatile U19 riders has recently been selected to represent Australia in the tough Cross Country discipline (XCO) at the upcoming 2011 Mountain Bike World Championships in Czechoslovakia and Italy later this month.

Mountain Bike Australia announced the team on 21 July this year.

Alex will compete in the U19 Men’s Cross Country event.

On behalf of the club we congratulate Alex on his selection and wish him the best of racing luck.

Vanessa heading North to Nationals

Vanessa Bof was all smiles on Sunday afternoon having contested all four events at the Victorian Junior Track Championships. With a Gold in the Pursuit, Bronze in the Time Trial, 4th in the Sprint and 5th in the Points race she was very happy with her efforts.

Her smile grew bigger when she was named as a member of the Victorian Team that will travel to Sydney to contest the Australian Junior Track Championships in March.

Brunswick Members ride with Gerro

Two Brunswick Members, Benedict Hughes (BCC kit) and Joe McShanag (Black&blue kit) recently joined a charity ride along beach road with Team Sky’s Simon Gerrans (Sky kit)

The ride was to raise money for Sacred Heart Mission on December the 4th 2010. Thanks to Simon for donating his time towards a worthy cause and to Colorpak and Altitude Volvo for organising and supporting the ride
Sacred Heart Mission – Every day of the year we assist hundreds of people who are homeless or living in poverty to find shelter, food, care and support.

Congratulations to Dylan Newell for taking out this years Northern Suburbs 3 Day Tour! This makes it the 2nd win in three years for Dylan and it is now 7 wins from the last 9 years for Brunswick!
