Some of you may have noticed a tandem flying round DISC on Tuesdays of late, well the ladies riding this speed machine are Casey Hyde and her pilot Sue Cox.

The pair were hoping to ride a 1000m time that would qualify them for the Para Cycling National Championships in 3 weeks time, sadly a PB by 4 seconds wasn’t enough but they now have a goal for 2012!

Reading the email from Sue below you get the feeling that the “can do” attitude of our awesome club is very much appreciated, so this Tuesday we are learning about the Pursuit!!!  onya

Cykel Events are hosting The Women’s Grand Prix and it is coming up soon and consists of ITT & criterium events for women only.

Brunswick CC would like to wish Ruby Roseman-Gannon the best of luck for the U15 girls Junior National Road Champs being held this weekend in Shepparton! Ruby was selected to be in the Victorian team

Fellow club members Sean McIver, Christian Molinia and James Pane are also competing this weekend

The club congratulates Ruby Roseman Gannon on her selection in the State team to contest the Australian Junior Road Championships in September. Ruby, who started in the clinic, is selected as a first year under-15, which is an awesome achievement in itself! It was impossible for the state selectors to ignore her rise this year, especially in the Time Trial and the hillier road races. The Championships will be a great experience for her and prepare for an all out assault in 2012 as a top-year 15.

Mark in your Diary 11AM 8th October for the Brunswick Road Chamionships. It will be held near Lancefield  on Pyalong Rd.

The Pop Stewart would be excellent training to start your preparation for it!

The St Kilda Cycling Club will be running a Northern Combine event, their annual SKCC Trophy Race, on Saturday, 13th August at 10am.

Vanessa Bof was all smiles on Sunday afternoon having contested all four events at the Victorian Junior Track Championships. With a Gold in the Pursuit, Bronze in the Time Trial, 4th in the Sprint and 5th in the Points race she was very happy with her efforts.

Her smile grew bigger when she was named as a member of the Victorian Team that will travel to Sydney to contest the Australian Junior Track Championships in March.
