Brunswick Cycling Club

Over the last two years, Brunswick Cycling Club has provided support to the Victorian Women’s Omnium Championships, and in doing so, has helped create one of Victoria’s premier women’s track events. This support is greatly appreciated, and once again, the event organiser is extending an invitation to Brunswick CC to support and assist in the running of the 2011 event on January 16.

The event requires assistance in the form of time keepers, line judges, gate helpers, registration etc…

(Commissaires have already been appointed.)

The warm up events have been completed at Geelong! This coming Saturday 9th October, Brunswick CC will be holding the 2010 club road championships at Lancefield from 12 noon. Please arrive to register by 11am. Parking and registration is on the corner of the Lancefield-Tooborac Rd and Pyalong Rd. [map] – Look out for the Brunswick marquee. Categories and approximate distances are as follows:

U11 : 15km
U13 : 15km
U15 : 35km
U17 : 40km
MU19 : 80km
WU19 : 40km
EliteM : 80km
EliteW : 40km
Masters 2,3,4 : 60km
Masters 5,6,7 : 60km

On Saturday September 12th, the Victorian Masters IRTT Championships were held in Wangaratta. Elizabeth Hall managed an upset in taking the silver in WMAS3! Liz sure is getting some good results!

Brunswick Cycling Club urgently requires volunteers to help with the running of the Victorian Women’s Omnium Championships, to be run at DISC on Sunday 22nd November from 11am. If any members or friends can spare part or all of the day to help out, we would love to hear from you.

Kendelle Hodges has been nominated to the Australian team for the UCI Junior Road World Championships being staged in Moscow, Russia from 7 to 9 August.

Hodges, 17, the reigning Australian and Oceania U19 IRTT champion, has been selected for both the road race and time trial.

We wish her the very best and every success.

The next Footscray CC Drake Boulevard crit is on this Sunday, May 3rd. For those that haven’t been as yet, that’s in Altona, Melways Ref 54 H5 (about a 10 minute ride on from Williamstown).
