  Updated 22 December Cycling Australia has been contacted from some parents and coaches of junior riders regarding the recently published gearing restriction changes that will apply to junior competitors. These have either supported the change or expressed concerns or queries regarding the effective date of 1 April 2012 and/ or the cost of equipment set up to meet the new regulation.

Cykel Events are hosting The Women's Grand Prix and it is coming up soon and consists of ITT & criterium events for women only. On Saturday 12th November Brunswick CC will be hosting a presentation night for the track racing 2010-2011 Season and road 2011 season. During the presentation night awards/saches will be presented to to all the Club Champions in the different age groups across the different disciplines from these seasons. We also plan to highlight other achievments by fellow club members throughout the past year. In the past we have hosted these evenings at the Harrison St club rooms but this year we thought we would do something a bit different and hold it in the function room at DISC and have catering provided. Details: Brunswick Cycling Club Track and Road Presentation night: Where: Upstairs Function Room, DISC, 281 Darebin Rd Thornbury Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm Date: Sat 12 Nov 2011 A selection of delicious hot and cold fingerfood will be provided. Drinks: Softdrink: BYO or available to purchase from the Bistro Alcoholic Drinks - Available at bar prices from the Bistro.(DISC license does NOT allow BYO) Can you please RSVP by emailing the Secretary no later than Wednesday 9th November so that we can ensure sufficient catering.

The fog lifted in time for contestants to start on time for the 2011 Brunswick Road Championships at Lancefield. The out and back circuit along the Pyalong road is only used for the Club Championships and anyone who has competed on the course would agree that those who greet the judges first deserve the accolades.

The Brunswick CC 2011 Road Championships for Senior and Junior riders (except J15's) will be held on October 8th at Pyalong Rd, Lancefield. Rego will be at 10am at the bus shelter and racing from 11am. All Junior categories will be racing on Saturday EXCEPT for the J15's as a few of them are travelling to Sydney for the NJTS Track meet. J15's will have their Club Championships race the following week, Saturday October 15th and it will possibly be at Gisborne South - stay tuned for updates on this next week.
